RCMP-approved firearms safety training and ISO compliance consulting from a single Ontario practice. Forty years of quality systems meets a lifetime in firearms — taught by an instructor who has spent eleven years as Range Safety Officer and Safety Director at the club level.
Every course meets the RCMP curriculum standard. Written and practical exams are administered on-site by a certified FSESO proctor. Course locations rotate across south-central Ontario; specific venue confirmed on registration.
The complete path to a full Possession & Acquisition License covering both non-restricted and restricted firearms. Most new owners take both courses together; it's the most efficient route to legal ownership of rifles, shotguns, and handguns. All four exams — written and practical — administered at completion.
The federally mandated training to obtain a non-restricted PAL. One full day covering safe handling, ammunition, parts and operation, safe storage, and the legal responsibilities of ownership in Canada. Concludes with both written and practical exams.
Builds on the CFSC and is required for a Restricted PAL — handguns and other restricted firearms. Covers classification, transport rules, and the additional legal framework specific to restricted ownership. Standalone scheduling by arrangement; most students take it combined.
For RPAL holders entering IDPA, IPSC, or recreational handgun sports. Safe holster draw and re-holster, movement under control, and the safety protocols required for holstered competition under CSSA standards.
Building on holster training, this session covers movement while engaging targets, transitions, reloads under movement, and dynamic shooting fundamentals — all to CSSA standards. Held by appointment for cleared students.
Forty years in quality systems, a lifetime in firearms.
Rodger joined a cadet rifle team at thirteen, having grown up shooting on a farm north of Brampton. The early start became a lifetime — competitive pistol shooting through the IDPA, eleven years of formal range leadership at the club level (seven as Chief Range Safety Officer, four-plus as Safety Director), and the FSESO instructor and proctor credentials that authorize him to teach both RCMP licensing courses end-to-end.
The other half of the practice runs parallel. Since 1986 Rodger has worked in quality assurance and lean manufacturing as an ISO Lead Auditor, AS9100 Lead Auditor (aerospace), and ISO 13485 Lead Auditor (medical devices). Technical writing for military product testing has put his work in front of the Canadian Department of National Defence, the United States military, and international defense organizations.
The two sides inform each other. Compliance work demands meticulous procedure; firearms instruction rewards it. Students get an instructor who treats safety as a system, not a slogan.
Confirmed venues across three communities, with travel anywhere in the province by arrangement for groups of four or more.
Courses are taught in dedicated classroom space with seating for fewer than a dozen students per session. Equipment, materials, and ammunition are laid out at every station. Students leave the day legally trained and genuinely competent — not just exam-ready.
Courses run on a rolling schedule across Ontario. Apply below; Rodger reviews each application personally and reaches out within 48 hours with course date options that match your location and availability.

Practical, supervised live-fire instruction held at partner ranges across Southern Ontario. Designed as the natural next step for students who have completed CFSC, CRFSC, holster training, and movement drills, and who want focused, coached time at the firing line under direct instruction.
Curriculum is being built around small-group sessions, controlled progression, and the same procedural rigour that defines every other course we offer. Equipment, ammunition, and range fees will be included in session pricing; specific format will be published once partnerships are finalized.
Live-fire instruction at this level requires two things to be in place before we open enrolment: RCMP authorization for instruction beyond the licensing curriculum, and signed range agreements with operators whose facilities, insurance, and standards meet ours.
We are actively in conversation with several Ontario range operators. We will not announce dates until both pieces are signed. When they are, this page becomes the schedule.
Add your name and we’ll email you the day enrolment opens. No other emails, no list-sharing, easy unsubscribe.
